How to Measure for your blinds

Important...... Please use a metal tape measure.. Cloth measuring tapes stretch over time and could result in an incorrect measurement. All measurements are in Centimetres or in some cases millimetres (please double check this with which ever supplier you choose.

Please check and double check your measurements thoroughly as we regret none of our suppliers can accept returns for incorrect measurement.

1. Recess or exact measurement?

If your blind is to hang outside the window recess then give us the exact measurement you require. specify Exact measurement when ordering.

If your blind is to hang within the window recess then give us the exact measurement of the recess and we will make the blind the correct size to fit within this recess. Specify Recess Measurement when ordering.

2. Measuring inside a recess.

a. Width. Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom and give us the shortest measurement

b. Drop. Again, measure in three places, left, middle and right and give us the shortest measurement.

Velux Windows
Please note that you do not need to measure for Velux window blinds. Simply give us the reference number found on the data plate found at the top sash of your window (viewed only when window is open)

Roller Blinds
Please note that Roller blinds have fittings at either end which make the fabric slightly smaller than the overall size of the blind. For an exact (outside window recess) measurement you may wish to increase the size of your blinds by 2.8cm
For an (inside recess) measurement remember that the fabric size will have to be 3.3cm smaller than the recess in order to accommodate the fittings.
